      Welcome to Kitcat Canadians!

     **** UPDATE July 2024 ****

We have significantly downsized our herd, and will be completely discontinuing our breeding program for at least the next 3-5 years minimum. We plan on retaining only few purebred mares for personal use, and will no longer be keeping our own stallions. If we do decide to continue breeding again in the future, our foals will be available by reservation only.

With this new approach, the buyer would pick one of our high quality mares to be bred to an approved registered Canadian stallion of their choice (shipped semen only - no live cover). Buyer would then be responsible for paying any and all stud fees, collection costs, shipping, A.I related fees, vet expenses, and mares additional pregnancy needs such as 3, 5, 7, and 9 month vaccinations and ultrasounds. Once the foal arrived safely on the ground, the balance owing on the foal would be due and the buyer would need to pick a name and pay for the foal to be microchipped and registered with the CHBA. Mare "leasing fees" would be negotiated in advance and a contract would be signed clearly outlining the responsibilities of both parties. Our mares would stay with us the whole time, and the foal would be halter trained, handled daily, and ready for pickup at weaning.

**** Thank you to all of our amazing customers and clients for the support over the last 5 years! ****

At Kitcat Canadians, Jasen and I (Catherine) believe in raising quality Canadian horses that are suitable for any discipline. Our horses are well bred with rare old bloodlines and we ensure each foal we produce is promptly registered after birth. Our herd ranges in size from 14.3 to 16+ hands, however most of our horses are on the larger side and will finish between 15.2 and 16.2 hands.

As small independent breeders, we believed in focusing on quality over quantity. Prior to making the decision to discontinue our breeding program in July 2024,  we were striving to produce 1 - 3 well bred, registered Canadian foals per year. We ensured each baby got plenty of love and individual attention, and our foals were are all halter trained and fully registered before they left for their new homes. We handled all of our foals daily and exposed them to a variety of situations to help prepare them for the "real world". Our horses all have advanced desensitization training and are willing to go over a variety of obstacles, go out alone, stand quietly for hoof trimming, calmly trailer load, etc.

Our entire herd of horses are loved and treated like part of the family. They receive regular veterinary checks, excellent barefoot hoof care, routine dental work, as well as massage therapy and chiropractic adjustments when needed. They are kept up to date on vaccinations and deworming and we ensure all of our horses live the best life they can live. We work closely with a great team of qualified Equine Professionals to ensure that all of our horses stay healthy and happy.

We are currently located on a small acreage between Lethbridge and the USA border in beautiful Southern Alberta, Canada. We work closely with our buyers to arrange shipping and have sold horses and foals to homes in Oregon, Washington, Alberta, British Columbia, Ontario, and Quebec. We stand by our horses, and our goal is 100% customer satisfaction. Please take a moment to check our our new Testimonials page.
